First off, you need to understand that I come from a truly, shall we say, “unique” family. I can honestly say that everyone is creative. It is amazing how much talent there is in this clan. From painters, to cross stichers, knitters, comedians, purse designers, beaders, weavers, leather workers, carvers, bakers and writers. We could probably put on an amazing “one of a kind” show. I say this to give some background. When you get all these creative types together to have a “tart off”. Things can get a little nutty. I know this is not one of my usual design blog posts but I had to share a wee little video I made from our tart adventure. Enjoy!
Today I met up with my design mentor in the town of Woodstock. We were there to check out a place called: One-Of-A-Kind Antique Mall.
The “mall” is an old factory sporting three levels of antiques. From tea cups to paintings and from old fur coats to coffee tables. This place has it covered. If you want it and are ready to search for it, you will let likely find it there.
I was able to keep myself in check. I came out with a couple Spiderman comics and two dog figurines. There was a good deal more I could have left with but no space in vehicle. Phew! Glad I brought the smaller vehicle!
Some of the items at this shop have been painted and are good to go but most need a little love. It is still worth the drive!

This past weekend we took the family to the plowing match in Roseville, Ontario. It was a unique experience to say the least. The entire family loved it. There were a good deal of exhibits and I enjoyed the Quality Home exhibit and of course the Home Hardware booth. I picked up the newest Home Hardware furniture catalogue and it is fantastic. They have once again outdone themselves putting together a collection of furniture that is not only perfect for every day use but stunning as well. Bravo! I am very excited about using some of these custom pieces in some of my clients homes.
