A few days ago I was called out to a clients home to look at a kitchen. Currently the kitchen is dark painted cupboards with no backsplash and some countertops that need replacing. The home has a very large kitchen but is not filled with a vast amount of light so I suggested some cupboards in a lighter colour.
The photo above shows a small breakdown of what I suggested for this kitchen remodel. I suggested the cupboards should be painted the BM colour – Muslin CC 110 and the walls BM colour – Stonehouse CC120. The walls are not a dark colour but they have enough warmth to add interest and ground the space. I found this granite countertop at Lowe’s for the price of $61/sq.ft. Installed. It’s name is White Ice from Brazil. This countertop has a wee bit of sparkle and a great colour palette. It also comes with a 15 year seal guarantee by the supplier. Lastly, I wanted to find a backsplash that would be eye catching but that would not “fight” with the countertop. This tile also from Lowes at $7.48 /sq.ft. was a good fine. It has a nice combination of glass and stone tile to make it stand out under some undercounter cabinet lights. I am looking forward to seeing this project completed. I am sure it is going to be gorgeous!
