Merry Christmas everyone! I pray everyone reading this had a fabulous day with family and friends even tho the weather has been less then pleasant in Canada. I am happy to say I have not had to worry about the ice storms and such as we have been in sunny Florida. Disney at Christmas is truly a magical time.
Today we were back to Epcot for one last day. We enjoyed the Joyful Christmas Choir and left the park for dinner at O’hana in the Polynesian Resort. If you ever get to experience a meal there you will not regret it. O’hana means family and our family had the best Christmas dinner ever. The night came to a beautiful end with an amazing lights and fireworks show over world Showcase. I once again remember why lights play such a crucial role in decorating. Nothing can change the look of any object as quickly as light. Truly stunning.
As I enjoy the last hour of Christmas with my family I will be sure to be grateful and remember the true meaning of Christmas. Peace to you and yours!
Looking at the time I am realizing that Christmas Eve is almost over. In my family the tradition has always been to attend a Christmas Eve Candlelight Service. After this service we go to my folks for goodies and snacks. This is attended by family and close friends. Some times even a few Christmas Carols make their way into the evening. It is a nice way to remember what the season is truly about.
Tonight we had our “almost” traditional night. The day was spent in Epcot and this is where we attended a Christmas Candlelight Processional. There was a full orchestra, mass choir and the narrator was Steven Curtis Chapman. It was a fantastic way to celebrate Christmas Eve. After the “service” we came back to my folks resort room and there, they put on their traditional spread of homemade goodies and treats. We were joined by close friends and everyone laughed and retold stories about our amazing day. It was a great spin on our traditional Christmas Eve and we made memories that will last a life time. I feel truly blessed!
By now most folks have their Christmas lights up. Personally I prefer white only on the exterior of my homes with the addition of a couple well placed spot lights. For the next week my family and I are experiencing the holiday craziness of Disney World. It is a magical experience to say the least. Now Disney does Christmas lights to the max. This is one part of the Osbourne Family donated Christmas lights in Hollywood Studios. Talk about lights!!!!!
Looking for a simple last minute centre piece?
Grab a large glass bowl, a pillar candle, some limes and apples and voila! This little creation would be great on a coffee table, kitchen counter or even a kitchen table. In fact, it would also look great on an entry table. So if you are looking for that last hit of red & green while you entertain, you have found it here!
I love when table settings look festive but are not a nightmare to achieve. This look screams fun and is reasonable. I particularly love the champagne flutes with the small branch inside topped off with a bit of whimsy. All the table decor is also at a nice height which allows for easy communication. Nothing worse than going to the efforts of centre pieces and then having to move them off the table because no one can talk over them. So this Christmas, think festive, think fun but most of all think simple!
One colour scheme I have not tackled on my tree is the all white design. I personally thought it might be a touch too boring but after seeing this tree I have changed my mind. I think it all comes down to having large enough ornaments. Watch out boxing day sales… I am on the hunt for large white ornaments!
Ok, this is probably the last time I will harp on Radiant Orchid for a bit. I do like the colour but would probably only use it in a bedroom, maybe a powder room and of course a mudroom. It would for sure look great in a laundry room. It is not a colour that everyone would like or even want in their home but for some, me included, it makes them smile. Like I said previously, this is the colour of my daughters room and she looooooves it. She says every time she goes in her room she feels alive and happy. I couldn’t ask for anything better.
